Favorite Recipe Using Tillamook Cheese: The "Smack & Cheese" - one pound cooked bacon, some diced chiles, milk, macaroni, Tillamook Cheddar Cheese, and Tillamook Pepper Jack Cheese.
My husband and I are expecting our first baby this summer. We recently decided to take one last vacation before the two of us become the three of us. Our final destination was Seaside, Oregon. Being pregnant presents the need for opportunities to pull over and take breaks. What better place than Tillamook, Oregon? We came around the bend on Highway 101 and the Tillamook Cheese Factory was a beacon on the horizon. After noticing the people flocking in and out of the factory, we knew we hit a goldmine. We enjoyed seeing the observatory deck and watching the blocks of cheese get packaged. After passing through the tasting line we thought about passing through it again, however the ice cream cafe was calling out to me. My husband got Marionberry Pie and I got Tillamook Mudlside. My oh my was this the best ice cream I have ever had! I dream about the creamy, fresh goodness. Thank you, Tillamook. We are now bigger fans of your fabulous cheese and ice cream!
