Tillamook was voted the "World's Best Medium Cheddar Cheese" at the 2010 World Championship Cheese Contest.

 

Cheesemakers from 20 different nations united in Madison, Wisc., from March 16-18 for the 2010 World Championship Cheese Contest. Tillamook Cheese took home the gold medal for “Best Medium Cheddar in the World,” beating out 59 other entries. 

 

 

 

Tillamook has been farmer-owned since 1909.

 

Tillamook grew from a few farmers' desire to ensure that cheese produced in the Tillamook area was of the absolute highest quality. Currently, all of the milk and cream used in the production of Tillamook dairy products (cheese, butter, ice cream, yogurt, and sour cream) comes from cows not supplemented with artificial growth hormones.

 

 

 

*The FDA has stated that no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBST treated and non-rBST treated cows.
